Whether you love him or hate him, it is hard to deny that John Cena does incredible work outside of the WWE. He is a leader for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Susan G Komen cancer charities and he fully understands the magnitude of his work.

While fans and even Cena in the past has clamored for him to return to being a heel in the WWE, it doesn’t make sense at this point for Cena to move away from his ultimate good guy persona.

In the WWE, he can blur the line between good and bad, not in a CM Punk way, but in such as way that you may boo him one minute, but he’ll have you cheering for him the end.

He knows when to be super patriotic, fun-loving and for the kids John Cena and he knows when to be super serious, go-time champion John Cena.

Cena has already granted over 500 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but he doesn’t believe that he’s done enough. Speaking with Men’s Health, Cena said: “I feel like I'm not meeting enough kids.” He continued to say the days he sees a Make-A-Wish kid are ”the best days of the week.”

He says has already given wishes over 15 years, or to be exact 5,475 days but for Cena, that means he’s been “idle for 4,975 days.”

Saying that would strange for many, Cena has already gone above and beyond, but for him, it’s not enough.

Giving children hope

Getting to meet any child from the Make-A-Wish foundation gives Cena hope. Hope, that he says is returned to him, seeing the children battle illnesses. "I give them exactly what they give me — hope,” Cena said, granting a wish is a day off from “the normal struggle.

Cena has set his target one reaching 1000 wishes and while he is halfway there, he has a way to go. He can easily achieve that in the next few years as he doesn’t look like he’s stepping away from the WWE anytime soon.

Of course, Cena has to find the time to grant the wishes, but he seemingly always finds the time, be it a normal Monday before Monday Night Raw or the Friday before WrestleMania, he does his utmost to meet the children that want to meet him.

Cena on relationships

In his interview with Men’s Health, Cena also talked about relationships, especially showing a love interest that you care about them. Cena is, of course, dating fellow WWE Superstar Nikki Bella but it is well documented on the Total Divas show that he is not coming around to getting married or having children.

But Cena says you have to do your best in a relationship to show your appreciation for the other person.

He says the key to making a relationship work could be something as simple as a “card, it could be flowers or an unplanned date” You just have to show appreciation for the other person in your life.
