Now that Extreme Rules is done and dusted the superstars of WWE now turn their attention to Money in the Bank which takes place on June 19, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Las Vegas. There was five Money in the Bank qualification matches on this week’s RAW. These matches saw 10 WWE Superstars vying for five spots in the matches that can make or break a career.

One Helluva Victory for Sami Zayn

The first Money in the Bank qualification match saw Sami Zayn rebound nicely from the heartbreak of the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules. Sami Zayn took on Sheamus in a fairly physical bout and while in the beginning, it looked as though Sheamus had Zayn’s number he quickly found that a momentary lapse in concentration can lead to a loss. Sheamus got distracted for half a second and was met with a Helluva Kick which gifted Sami Zayn a golden opportunity in just over three weeks’ time.

The Uppercut Train is Las Vegas Bound

The second qualification match saw Cesaro get one over on The Miz as The Swiss Superman looked to take the uppercut train all the way to Las Vegas. The Miz looked smug as he came out for the match following the event of the previous night. In the early goings, it looked as though it was going to be tough for the Intercontinental Champion to pick up the victory. Then Cesaro tweaked his shoulder on a stalling vertical suplex. The Miz then tried to capitalize on this but as it turns out Cesaro is ambidextrous so the uppercuts continued and then came the Neutralizer. Can Cesaro take control of a title opportunity only time will tell?

Can the Gift of Jericho Lead to Gold?

The inventor of The Money in the Bank Ladder match was the third competitor to win a spot in the match when he defeated Apollo Crews. Apollo found some success in attacking the wounds that Chris Jericho suffered from the thumbtacks in the Asylum Match. But due to the attack from Sheamus prior to the match, it became too much for Crews who saw his hopes ended with a codebreaker.

Dean Ambrose looks ahead to huge opportunity

Then came the Lunatic Fringe’s chance to make a future triple threat main event where all three members of the Shield collide for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. First of all Dean Ambrose had to dispose of Dolph Ziggler. Both these men went toe to toe as they gave it everything they had at each other. Ambrose may have been in a better position coming off a win against Jericho while Ziggler had a crushing defeat against Baron Corbin the night previous. Ambrose managed to avoid a superkick and a Famouser & narrowly dodged a Zig Zag and pounced with Dirty Deeds to end it.

Is it Kevin Owens' Time to Shine

Then the main event saw two of the “new era” collide as Kevin Owens took on AJ Styles. AJ Styles tried to do this on his own as he disbanded The Club and immediately this may have come back to haunt AJ. Kevin Owens looked to make an emphatic statement after coming close to winning back his Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules. Styles was looking to his newfound aggression to help him pick up the victory. Alas, it was a superkick to the ropes that stopped AJ from hitting a phenomenal forearm and allowed Kevin Owens to hit a match ending Pop-Up Powerbomb.

Five Down Two To Go

Now that five of the seven spots have been filled we must now wait and see who the next two combatants will be. The interesting thing is that all the entrants so far have been feuding over the last few weeks and will this all come to ahead at Money in the Bank we will just have to wait and see.
