California was able to avoid elimination from the 2015 Little League World Series with a 10-3 win over Rhode Island

California actually trailed in the game when Rhode Island's Caleb Harris hit a home run. That was followed by a RBI single by Cam Adamec that scored Marchetti.

California then had a offensive outburst in the third inning, as they scored six runs in the inning. Jacob Baptista homered in the inning, while Nate Nankil and Walker Lannom contributed a RBI single to make it a 6-2 lead.

California added more runs in the sixth inning when Lannom hit his second home run of the game, along with Dante Schmidt adding a home run to make it a 6-3 game.

Those runs were all that Levi Mendez, the West starting pitcher, would need as he went all six innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits and no walks.

His counterpart on the mound, Dylan Demers, only lasted four and two thirds innings, allowing six earned runs with two walks and seven strikeouts. He was replaced by Nick Mason, who lasted one inning, giving up three earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts.

Jared Olson then came on and got the final out of the sixth inning, but Rhode Island was unable to rally in the bottom of the inning, and California walked away with the win.

California advances to face Kentucky on Tuesday in an elimination game. Rhode Island, meanwhile, is eliminated from the tournament.
