WWE Is Pushing Dean Ambrose In The Wrong Direction

Dean Ambrose is one of WWE's best in-ring performers and talkers, yet he is being pushed towards the IC Title, instead of towards the main event scene.

WWE, as they have been doing as of late, is making a mistake. Dean Ambrose is having a hard push for the Intercontinental Title, feuding with current title holder Bad News Barrett the past few weeks. Well, Ambrose is very worthy of a title, but the IC Title? A title that has very much lost its prestige over the years? Dean Ambrose is above the IC Title.

When The Shield burst onto the scene, the crowd loved Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins (their abilities, not necessarily their characters) and expected all of them to be great individual wrestlers when the faction split up. Well, the faction is now split up and Rollins and Reigns are already at the top of the company. Yet Dean Ambrose, a better wrestler and talker than Roman Reigns, got demoted to the mid card.

Every week, WWE fans get stuck watching Big Show and Kane in the major promos and the big matches. Both superstars have had great careers, but it is safe to say that they are past their in-ring primes. Ambrose is young and simply more entertaining than both Big Show and Kane. Also, Ambrose will be an important part of WWE's future, but that isn't something to be said of Big Show and Kane.

Maybe WWE's plan is to have a great feud between Barett and Ambrose to bring some prestige and interest back to the Intercontinental Title. However, there are other superstars on the roster who are just as capable of putting on good matches with Barrett, such as Dolph Ziggler. In fact, Ziggler is probably a better performer than Ambrose, but Ambrose makes more sense to be in the main event since he has a better resume than Ziggler.

WWE has been known to mess with momentum of superstars in the past. Ziggler could be used as an example, who seemed destined for success earlier in his career. Mr. Kennedy, years ago, is another great example of someone who deserved a push they never really got. The only difference, though, is that WWE was in a much better state than they are now. Ambrose is a guy who could make the jump to the main scene and make a splash. All the creative team has to do is give him a chance to prove himself.
