When deciding which women’s division is better between WWE and TNA, the company that wins is TNA. Sure the WWE Divas probably make more money, because the company is bigger and they perform in front of a much bigger crowd, but the Divas performances are not on the same level as the TNA Knockouts. WWE has seriously been lacking in their women’s division for a number of years. It’s because of the direction that WWE has taken with their women, that several of the Divas from the late 90s and early 2000s left the WWE. Wrestlers like Molly Holly, Gail Kim, and Victoria quit the WWE because they knew their talent was being wasted.

TNA just offers so much more for their women and focuses more on the wrestling aspect of professional wrestling. The Knockouts are what the WWE Divas use to be but a little more evolved. Wrestlers like Chyna and Lita showed their fans that women can equal the men inside the squared circle, which is exactly what the Knockouts show their fans every time they step inside the ring. TNA doesn’t subject their women to having a specific look in order to work for the company. Knockouts like Havok and Awesome Kong are not only tough but also send chills down the fans’ spines. When people see these women, they know not to mess with them.

Everyone knows that Divas like Eva Marie were only signed to WWE based on their looks and not their talent, because Eva Marie certainly lacks wrestling skills. Eva Marie has absolutely no previous wrestling experience. Marie was barely down in NXT to become a decent wrestler and if it wasn’t for Total Divas, she probably wouldn’t have as many fans as she does. Other Divas, like Rosa Mendes and Kelly Kelly both lacked the talent but were still Divas because of “the look”. Rosa Mendes hasn’t even won a singles match via pin fall yet since her debut in 2008. Let’s not forget that Awesome Kong was a Diva at one point as Kharma, though it was very short and was released because she wasn’t what they were looking for. Even the late Eddie Guerrero’s daughter, Raquel Diaz has had her own person issues with trying to fit “the look” that the WWE has set; she even had to leave so that she could go to rehab for an eating disorder she developed.

The Knockouts also perform better matches than the Divas these days. They have more stipulations available to them, including cage matches, and ladder matches. The Knockouts’ matches are longer than the Divas’ and due to the Knockouts being more talented, their matches are also better than the Divas. TNA also allows their women to step inside the ring against the men. The same way WWE use to run their matches.

We can all give credit to Lita and Victoria for putting on the first ever Women’s Steel Cage Match back in the early 2000s. Let’s not forget Chyna who was the first woman to ever enter the Royal Rumble, she became a number one contender for the WWF Championship, competed in the King of the Ring Tournament and the only Diva to win the Intercontinental Championship. Lita would also get in the ring and fight against the men. The Divas use to have Hardcore matches as well. All of this occurring before the Divas became Divas. It’s sad that the WWE doesn’t go back to that because of their PG rating and Vince McMahon is more focused on entertaining than wrestling. Today the Divas’ matches only last for five minutes and maybe ten if it’s a pay-per-view. They don’t have the stipulations that the Knockouts do. Nor are they as talented.

This doesn’t include NXT because NXT is more of its own brand and the development center to get to the main roster. NXT actually does use their women the right way, but look what happens when they’re moved up to the main roster. Paige was the first NXT Womens Champion and has the longest reign so far. When she debuted on RAW she won the Divas Championship from AJ Lee, but WWE failed to build her afterwards. The current NXT Womens Champion Charlotte lost to Natalya (who she beat to get the title) when she appeared on RAW a few weeks ago.

So hands down the TNA Knockouts are better than the WWE Divas. There aren’t as many memes made about the Knockouts as there are made about the Divas. If the Knockouts were to perform in front of the WWE crowd, then the WWE Universe would see just how different the two women’s divisions are from one another.
