Cinderella saw the clock strike midnight for the College of Charleston Cougars in Lubbock, as the Cougars' miraculous run came to an end on back to back 1-0 games by the Red Raiders. Texas Tech scored their only run of the game in the top of the 4th when left fielder Tyler Neslony came home on a double by designated hitter Adam Kirsch. Texas Tech also used 4 different pitchers in this game to control the Cougars, and they didn't give up any hits or walks in the final 2.2 innings of the game.

This will be the first time that Texas Tech has advanced to the College World Series in the history of the program, so their story is a bit of a Cinderella story of it's own. The Texas Tech manager is Tim Tadlock, who is only in his second year with the program, and he won two titles with the Grayson Vikings in the NJCAA, and made 3 other appearances at the NJCAA College World Series. So, he knows what it takes to win, and the Red Raiders are an underdog, but they still have a shot to win it all in Omaha.
