California Chrome arrived at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning without any problems unlike the whirlwind that took place over the weekend that threw his Belmont Stakes entry in doubt. "Nasalgate" is now a thing of the past as the New York Racing Association and the Belmont Park stewards will allow California Chrome to wear a nasal strip for the Belmont Stakes. A statement regarding the use of a nasal strip for California Chrome (and all horses from now on) is below.

“The three Stewards at Belmont Park today unanimously agreed to allow the use of equine nasal strips for all horses running at racetracks of The New York Racing Association, effective immediately,” read a joint press release put out by the New York State Gaming Commission, Jockey Club, and NYRA, which employ the three stewards.

According to Alan Sherman, son of California Chrome's trainer Art Sherman, Chrome will jog tomorrow (Wednesday), gallop until May 31 and breeze 1-2 mile that day. California Chrome will then jog and gallop up to race.

There was also news on Tuesday that the Kentucky Derby 3rd place finisher Danza will not race in the Belmont Stakes. Per Daily Racing Form's David Grening on Twitter, "Danza will not run in Belmont, per Pletcher, who said horse not doing well at moment. Going to Ocala for a break." Todd Pletcher is the trainer of Danza and confirmed the news. Grening also tweeted, "Re: Danza. Pletcher thought he lost weight, needs more time. Had some skin disease after Ky Derby. Will go to dad's farm for eval and break."

In addition there are several jockey commitments that have been announced. Javier Castellano will ride Commissioner in the Belmont Stakes while Joel Rosario will ride Tonalist. Rosario rode Ride On Curlin to a second place finish in the Preakness on Saturday. With Rosario taking a different mount, John Velazquez has been confirmed to have the mount on Ride on Curlin. All of those jockey announcements were reported by DRF's David Grening on Twitter.
