Scott Feldman delivered six scoreless innings in route to a 2-0 win for Houston over San Francisco.

Colby Rasmus and Jed Lowrie hammered solo home runs into McCovey Cove in the 7th and 8th innings to help seal the win for Houston.

Luke Gregerson picked up his 23rd save of the season with a perfect ninth inning. Gregerson along with Oliver Perez, Will Harris and Pat Neshek struck out four and gave up just one hit in four scoreless inning.

Feldman (5-5) picked up his fifth win of the season and his first since May 26th. It was just Feldman's fifth start since returning from the DL after 45 games missed with a torn meniscus. He struck out four and walked one while giving up just four hits. Feldman also picked up one of Houston's five hits with a single in the fifth.

Chris Heston (11-7) took the loss for the Giants. Heston went 6.1 innings and gave up just one run on three hits. He struck out four, but walked a season-high four as well. The rookie has lost consecutive starts for the first time.

Gregor Blanco and Brandon Crawford both went 1 for 4 with a double. The pair accounted for the only extra base hits for San Francisco.

Houston (62-53) salvaged a much needed split after losing seven of the first eight games of this nine-game road trip.  San Francisco (60-53) has now lost five out of six.

A struggling Astros team desperately needed this win before returning to Minute Maid Park. Five hits was all Houston managed, but it was enough.

The Astros now head home for a 10-game homestand with series' against Detroit, Tampa Bay and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Houston holds the second best home record (38-18) in the American League behind only Kansas City. Houston is clinging onto a 1.5 game lead in the AL West ahead of the Los Angeles Angels.

The Giants have a four-game series at home against the Washington Nationals before heading on the road to play series' against St. Louis and Pittsburgh. The Giants are three games back of the Dodgers in the NL West and four games back of the Cubs for the second wild card spot.

Injury Notice:

Houston center fielder Carlos Gomez was given the day off for a sore knee suffered on a leaping catch against the wall in Tuesday's loss. Gomez came on as a pinch hitter in the seventh for Feldman.

San Francisco left fielder Nori Aoki returned to the lineup after getting hit in the head on Sunday by Cubs' pitcher Jake Arrieta. Aoki went 0 for 2.
