As the deadline quickly approaches, several teams are in an effort to bolster their rosters to give their teams the best chance to compete down the home stretch of the regular season as they look to make the postseason.

Keeping that in mind, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves are in the process of pulling off a massive three-team blockbuster which involves right-hander Mat Latos, first baseman Michael Morse, left-hander Alex Wood, and Cuban infielder Hector Olivera

According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the deal is now official.

In this deal, the Dodgers would receive starter Alex Wood, relievers Jim Johnson and Luis Avilan, and top prospect Jose Peraza from the Braves. Los Angeles will also acquire starter Mat Latos and first baseman Michael Morse from the Marlins. Reported by Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Dodgers will also take starter Bronson Arroyo and most of his contract from the Braves.

In total, the Dodgers will be taking on about $43.5 million in player contracts.

For the Braves, they will acquire highly touted Cuban infielder Hector Olivera, left-handed reliever Paco Rodriguez, and minor league pitcher Zachary Bird from the Dodgers. Atlanta will also receive Miami's 2016 Competitive Balance Draft pick (34th overall).

On the Marlins side of things, they will receive three minor league pitchers - Kevin Guzman, Jeff Brigham and Victor Araujo. Miami will also get financial compensation worth $14.3 million to cover both Latos and Morse.

The deal is not official yet because teams are reviewing medical reports. Specifically, the Braves are checking in on Olivera's medical records.

It was reported earlier that the deal was reportedly "falling apart" during the delay, in which MLB was said to announce the deal which happened to be nothing more than a firm confirmation of all medical records and paperwork necessary for the deal to go through.

When Olivera was first added to this blockbuster, it shocked many and sparked what is now an even bigger deal that it was initially, growing the trade to a point where completion may be on the horizon.

Thus far into the 2015 season, Latos has really had his struggles, posting a 4.48 ERA in 16 games having thrown in 88.1 innings pitched.

On the Michael Morse side, he has slashed .214/.277/.592 with four home runs and 12 RBI's in 52 games the season.

Alex Wood has had a decent season thus far, going 7-6 while posting a 3.54 ERA in 20 games. In 119.1 innings pitched, Wood has struck out 90 batters while walking 36.

Jim Johnson has bounced back from an awful 2014 season, posting a 2.25 ERA in 49 games. In 48.0 innings pitched he has struck out 33 batters. Johnson has also recorded nine saves on the season, as he has filled in for the injured closer Jason Grilli.

Jose Peraza has not yet reached the MLB level, having spent 2015 in Triple-A Gwinnett where he has performed quite well, hitting .295/.319/.380 with three home runs and 37 RBI's, while stealing 26 bags.

Luis Avilan has had a rough season out of the Braves bullpen, posting a 3.58 ERA in 50 games, having thrown in 37.2 innings pitched and striking out 31 batters.

Paco Rodriguez has had a good season thus far besides, but is sidelined as he had loose bodies removed from his elbow in late June. Rodriguez could miss the rest of the season, but best case scenario is that he comes back in September. When healthy, he appeared in 18 games and threw 10.1 innings posting a 2.61 ERA.

Zach Bird has had a rough season in Double-A Rancho Cucamonga, having posted a 4.75 ERA in 19 games, having thrown in 89.0 innings with 95 strikeouts.

Hector Olivera who was signed by the Dodgers during the 2014 offseason will no longer get the chance to appear in a Dodgers uniform. Thus far in 2015, Olivera has hit .387/.387/.581 with four home runs and 14 RBI's, having appeared in a total of 38 games at the Triple-A level. Olivera was signed to a six-year $62.5 million deal in the offseason. Atlanta was very high on Olivera but couldn't win the bidding war. Now they will take on the remaining $31.25 million as the Dodgers already paid the bulk of his $28 million signing bonus. Olivera has been sidelined since June 13th with a hamstring injury.

As said by Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the deal still has multiple obstacles to cross as medical records continue to be examined, paperwork gets into it's completion stages, leaving an announcement undetermined for the time being.
