Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers are both having a rough start to their seasons as we near the one and a half month mark. Being in interleague play the White Sox were still trying to figure out ways to win on the road. Plus they were benching their star hitter, Jose Abreu, for a day of rest and it would be a challenge to overcome for the White Sox.

Luckily for them, Jose Quintana got some early support and pitched one of his best games so far this season to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 4-2 victory over the Brewers. Adam Eaton started off the game with a walk and then quickly went to second on a wild pitch by Jimmy Nelson. He advanced to third when Emilio Bonifacio grounded out and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Melky Cabrera. Then Avisail Garcia hit a solo home run for his third home run of the year, which was followed up by the next batter when Adam LaRoche hit another solo home run to score 3 runs in the opening inning. Those runs did quickly hurt as Nelson would earn the loss in this game. He did give up an additional run when Gordon Beckham doubled to start the seventh inning, advanced to third when Jose Quintana grounded out, and then would score on an infield single by Bonifacio.

Quintana followed them up by striking out a total of 6 batters his first time through the Milwaukee order, including striking out the side in the bottom of the second inning. He would finish up with 10 strikeouts and only gave up 4 hits and a walk for a 0.714 WHIP in this game.

The Brewers would try a furious rally though in the final two innings, as they got started quickly when Hector Gomez hit a triple to lead off the bottom of the eighth. Quintana gave up the hit and was responsible for the run when Jake Petricka gave up a pinch hit single to Gerardo Parra. Carlos Gomez would add the final run when he hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth for his third home run of the year. But David Robertson would end up getting his seventh save of the season and the game ended when Hector Gomez struck out to end the game.
