Jacob deGrom (1-1, 1.46) tossed 6 1/3 innings of scoreless ball in his second start of the season. Aaron Harang (1-1, 0.73) took a tough luck loss throwing six innings allowing only one run on four hits. The Phillies managed seven hits, five of them coming from the number seven and eight spots in the batting order (Cody Asche, Freddy Galvis).

Sold Out

The game featured a record crowd of 43,947 fans who brought a jolt of energy to the home team. This was the second largest crowd in the history of Citi Field, trailing only the 2013 All Star Game.

Still Streaking

Jacob deGrom entered this game having tossed six innings or more in each of his past 13 starts. That was the second highest streak in the majors (James Shields). DeGrom continued the streak today and also earned his first win of the 2015 season with his 6 1/3 scoreless innings. He has now thrown 11 2/3 straight scoreless innings in 2015.

Lefty Specialist

The Mets bullpen has been fantastic to start the 2015 season, but no one has been better than newly acquired lefty Jerry Blevins. Blevins has faced eight batters this season and has retired all eight. Each batter Blevins has faced this year has been left handed which is a formula for success. The left hander held lefties to a .160 batting average in 2014.

Cold Bats

The Mets have yet to get anything going on offense in 2015 and that continued Monday at Citi Field. The Mets managed just six hits and one was on a ball that Grady Sizemore lost in the sun that resulted in a Michael Cuddyer triple. The Mets failed to score Cuddyer from third after his sixth inning one out triple. Daniel Murphy and Travis d'Arnaud both popped up on the infield. D'Arnaud would later have a sac fly in the bottom of the eighth which was set up by a Chase Utley error.

Take a Walk

Curtis Granderson worked another two walks this afternoon to give him nine for the season. Granderson was 0-2 today, lowering his season batting average to just .056. Granderson was robbed in his third at-bat after he hit a scorching line drive to left field that was caught by a diving Ben Revere.

All in the Familia

Jeurys Familia recorded his second save since teammate and close friend Jenrry Mejia was suspended 80 games for performance enhancing drugs. Familia worked around a leadoff walk by getting a 3-6-1 double play and a fly out to center field to finish the shutout.
