The Cleveland Indians have locked up American League Cy Young winner Corey Kluber to a five-year contract extension on Saturday, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.

Passan also reports that the extension includes two years of club options. The deal buys out his arbitration years and the first three seasons of free agency, as long as the options are fully exercised.

This deal happened just two days after Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported that the two parties reaching a deal before the start of the 2015 seaon were "less than great." Obvisouly, something sparked the Indians.

This agreement comes just 48 hours from the 2015 Opening Day deadline to negotiate for Kluber's extension. The 28-year-old will make $601,000 this season.

Kluber has gone 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA over five games and 23.1 innings during the 2015 Spring Training. The righty gave up 10 runs on 20 hits, five homers and five walks. He struck out an oustanding 25 hitters. Kluber marked a 1.07 WHIP and held hitters to a .233 average.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports confirmed Passan's report that the extension has been finalized. However, it is pending a physical.

The numbers have not yet been reported, but VAVEL USA will update when that information is made known. Stay tuned.
