Tuesday night's ballgame was nearly identical to Monday's in regards to a letdown by the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-backs were once up 3-0 but were unable to sustain the lead and eventually fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 7-5, this time they had themselves to blame.

The D-backs were off to a picture perfect start, scoring three runs off Kyle Lohse after the first six D-back hitters reached base. Didi Gregorious was hit by a pitch to leadoff the bottom half, Gerardo Parra singled and Paul Goldschmidt walked to load the bases. Miguel Montero then hit a RBI bloop single, that was followed with RBI fielders choices from Martin Prado and David Peralta.

Milwaukee answered in the second inning with a mammoth leadoff solo home run off the bat of Aramis Ramirez. Martin Prado's RBI single in the fifth put Arizona up 4-1. The Brewers got another run back in the sixth on a Jonathan Lucroy solo homer.

An important series of events happened in the bottom of the sixth, where Kyle Lohse hit Chris Owings in the back of the back/neck that popped his helmet onto the ground. Pitcher Mike Bolsinger was up next and Lohse threw a curveball over Bolsinger's head when he squared around to bunt. The Diamondbacks would retaliate in the next half inning.

Evan Marshall came into pitch in the seventh, ending Mike Bolsinger's night in a spot start effort. Jean Segura leadoff the inning with his second triple of the night. Elian Herrera brought him home on a sacrifice fly that made it a one run game at 3-2. Lyle Overbay singled as the pinch hitter and Scooter Gennett followed with a double, that brought Ryan Braun to the plate.

Marshall's first pitch to Braun was right behind his back, with the next pitch nailing him in the rear end, resulting in Marshall being ejected from the game. It was clear Kirk Gibson ordered the hit by pitch, as he was the first one to fist bump Marshall in the dugout, followed by the rest of his teammates. The decision epically backfired, message sent or not, as Jonathan Lucroy brought everyone home on a grand slam off Brad Ziegler to give Milwaukee a 7-4 lead.

Roger Kieschnick hit a solo homer into the pool off Francisco Rodriguez to lead of the ninth inning, but D-backs fans left disappointed once again after Arizona stranded the tying runs on base to end the game.

The Diamondbacks will try to avoid a series loss Wednesday night in game three of the four game series. Wade Miley will get the ball, after having his start pushed back for a extra day's rest. Matt Garza will take the mound for the Brewers.
