The White Sox are in a serious offensive slump, but they haven't exactly gotten good pitching the last few games. With the one run today, the White Sox have scored a total of three runs in their past three games, and given up a total of 20. It is clear to see that they are not even coming remotely close to playing their best baseball.

The Royals scored their first five runs in the top of the 4th inning against Hector Noesi. Even though only two were earned because of defensive errors, the White Sox even putting him in their starting lineup is a major liability, he has a 5.37 ERA and threw 85 pitches that couldn't even get through more than 3.2 innings. His WHIP for the season is 1.5, which is not MLB caliber.

His opposing dueler was Danny Duffy, who threw 7 innings, striking out 9, and allowing no runs. He has had some hot starts lately, throwing games against the St. Louis Cardinals (June 2nd) and Baltimore Orioles (May 17th) that lasted at least 6 innings each time giving up no runs. Danny Duffy was just a complete stud for the whole game, which is not exactly expected from him. He is only 4-5 with a 2.83 ERA, and his WHIP is 1.15. The era is great but the Royals lucked out by pairing him against Noesi in this game, where they were certain go get some runs. With all that being said, let's review the AL Central Standings below.

Team W-L GB
Detroit Tigers 35-29 --
Kansas City Royals 35-32 1.5
Cleveland Indians 34-35 3.5
Minnesota Twins 32-34 4.0
Chicago White Sox 33-36 4.5

Clearly the White Sox have their work cut out for them in the division race as it is already midway through June. Maybe they still can turn it around, but it all depends on whether they are in a position to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.
