After struggling against the Diamondbacks last year, Dallas Keuchel redeemed himself in a big way as he limited Arizona to just one run and four hits in a 5-1 win for the Astros.

Brandon McCarthy faced the same struggles he has dealt with all year, no run support and allowing the long ball. The only run of support was the only mistake Keuchel made, a solo home run off the bat of Aaron Hill in the fourth inning. To go along with McCarthy's constant struggles, he faced a new one Wednesday night in struggling in the first three innings.

McCarthy has consistently blazed through the first three innings and found his troubles in innings four, five and six. But the Astros got to McCarthy early, scoring in the first, third and fourth innings. Jason Castro hit a RBI single in the first, Jon Singleton hit a RBI groundout in the third and Chris Carter blasted a home run to left in the fourth.

Houston scored two more in the seventh to tack five earned runs on McCarthy and put his ERA at 5.29. Carter hit a surprising opposite field home run in the seventh and George Springer hit a sacrifice fly to cap the game at 5-1.

The quick two game series will be wrapped up Thursday night, with a pitching matchup of Wade Miley against Scott Feldman. Miley is still searching for his fourth of the season, having not won a game since May 10. Feldman is looking to pitch better, going 1-4 with a 6.35 ERA in his last seven starts.
