After the first inning turned for the worst, the Arizona Diamondbacks managed to grind out five runs in four innings to seize a 7-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Another challenged play was overturned after the D-backs' Gerardo Parra was originally called out on a pickoff attempt at first. Paul Goldschmidt would take advantage of the overturned call, hitting a two run home run to put the D-backs up 2-0 just three batters into the game. The Brewers would get their revenge by putting up a five spot in the bottom half against Josh Collmenter. Collmenter would recover nicely after giving up the five runs -- one earned-- and would pitch into the sixth inning before being replaced with Evan Marshall, who was just brought up on Wednesday. Collmenter would finish his night pitching 5.2 innings, allowing just the one earned run on eight hits while striking out three and walking one.

The D-backs would make it a one run game by scoring a run in both the fifth and sixth innings. Josh Collmenter would hit a RBI groundout in the fifth and Chris Owings would hit his first career homer in the sixth. Arizona would take the lead in the eighth inning, bringing three runs across the plate. Paul Goldschmidt would double and immediately be brought home by a Miguel Montero RBI single. Aaron Hill would hit the decisive blow, a two run homer to put Arizona ahead 7-5. Brad Ziegler would pitch a clean eighth and Addison Reed would do the same in the ninth to record his ninth save on the year.

The two teams wrap up their series with a matinee game on Wednesday. Bronson Arroyo will look to continue his success on the mound against Wily Peralta, who has had a great season thus far. The D-backs will attempt to win consecutive series' for the first time in 2014.
