The streak of good pitching for the Arizona Diamondbacks finally came to a end on Monday, as the D-backs fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 8-3.

Carlos Gomez welcomed Mike Bolsinger to Milwaukee by blasting the first pitch he threw over the center field wall. Fortunately for Bolsinger, his offense got him a run in the top half of the first inning coming from a Aaron Hill RBI single. Martin Maldonado would hit a two run homer in the bottom of the second off Bolsinger, his first on the season.

The Diamondbacks would tie the game in the top of the third as Miguel Montero and Aaron Hill would both hit RBI singles against Matt Garza. Aaron Hill would go 4-4 in the ballgame, continuing his success at Miller Park. Milwaukee would take the lead back in the bottom of the fifth as Khris Davis would score Scooter Gennett on a sacrifice fly to center field. Bolsinger would finish the inning and that would mark the end of his night. He would pitch five innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits while walking and striking out three.

Matt Garza would pitch six innings, allowing three earned runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking two. The Brewers would reward him for his efforts, lighting up D-backs reliever Randall Delgado for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Delgado would walk Martin Maldonado and Rickie Weeks, allowing both of them to score on a Carlos Gomez two run single. Immediately after, Jean Segura would smash a two run homer to deep left field. The Brewers would never look back.

The Diamondbacks and Brewers play game two on Tuesday again at 5:10. Josh Collmenter will look to improve on his career 1.23 ERA against the Brewers as he faces Marco Estrada. Estrada will seek to regain control of his curveball and changeup after struggling with those two pitches in his last start against Cincinnati.
