The Milwaukee Brewers continue to be one of the hottest teams in all of baseball and they might very well be the best offense right now. Milwaukee recorded its second straight swept – and sixth consecutive win – against the Philadelphia Phillies on the road.

The Brewers managed to handle lefty Cliff Lee – who struck out eight and allowed three runs through six innings – and they attacked early and often. After a solo shot from Marlon Byrd in the second to put Philadelphia ahead, Milwaukee responded with two runs in the top of the fourth. An RBI double from Aramis Ramirez and an RBI single from Khris Davis put the Brew Crew ahead.

Milwaukee added another run in the sixth when an RBI double from Davis scored Jonathan Lucroy. However, Philadelphia answered quickly with another RBI from Byrd, his second of today’s game.

The Brewers decided to jump all over the Phillies’ bullpen and scored the final three runs on the seventh. Rickie Weeks scored on a single from Carlos Gomez, Logan Schafer scored on an RBI single to center field and Gomez added a run of his own on a sac fly by Ryan Braun. Milwaukee closed out the game with their pitching and between Tyler Thornsburg, Will Smith and Francisco Rodriguez they shut down Philadelphia to give his side another win.

The Brewers are currently leading the NL Central and it should come as no surprise based on their offensive talent. Their pitching has also been hot and there’s no doubt they are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with as the hottest team in the Majors so far.
