Marlins’ owner Jeffrey Loria personally commanded to swap starting pitchers Jose Fernandez and Ricky Nolasco in Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins, three sources with knowledge told Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.

Loria demanded the 20 year-old rookie to pitch in Nolasco’s spot during the day game because it was expected to be warmer, although the day game temperature (38 degrees) was colder than the night one (42 degrees). Manager Mike Redmond released the news to right-hander Ricky Nolasco and the team, which they were not happy at all.

When there’s a doubleheader, the veteran usually chooses which game they want to pitch. Basically, Loria ignored that and sabotaged Redmond’s young managing career.

It gets worse. Apparentley Jeffrey Loria denied that he mandated the switch as he told Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal “I had nothing to do with the decision,”.

“I don’t make decisions on who to pitch and when, how to go about it — that’s not my role. Sometimes they call me and tell me what they’re doing. But I don’t call them up and say, ‘This is what is going to happen.’ That’s not true.”

The only thing I can think that he can do is sell the team now. He did the wrong thing and he makes it even worse by rejecting it. C’mon man!
