Team of Puerto Rico
The Puerto Rican national team is known as "The Blue Hurricane" and, like Belize, they have never played in a World Cup, their maximum progress has been to reach the second phase of the World Cup qualifiers, nor have they played in the Gold Cup, something that Belize has already achieved.
The only achievement that the Puerto Rican national team has had was to receive on August 15, 2012, Spain, world and European champions, in a prestigious international friendly played in the city of Bayamon. Although the Spaniards dominated the match, they were only able to win by a tight score of 1:2 (goals by Cazorla and Fabregas; Cintron scored). It was the first time Puerto Rico played against a world champion team and also Spain's first encounter with a Caribbean nation.
Team of Belize
Belize was considered the Cinderella of Central America because, until 2013, it had never participated in an international tournament and traditionally ranked last in Central America. Its failure can be attributed to the team's amateurism.
However, in the 2013 Central American Cup, Belize made history by qualifying for the semifinals of the tournament, after defeating Nicaragua and drawing against Guatemala. This result gave them the right to participate for the first and only time in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
They are currently 182 in the FIFA ranking.
