At the Allianz Arena, the hosts threatened just 40 seconds into the match. Their left-back, Noussair Mazraoui, advanced to the three-quarter line and passed centrally to Harry Kane, who immediately assisted Leroy Sané, outrunning Antonio Rüdiger. Bayern's number 10 moved inside the box and fired a low left-footed shot that Madrid's goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin, deflected with his left leg. Thomas Tuchel's pupils tried again with a weak shot from Kane and then with his interception in midfield, quickly passing to Sané who sprinted down the left flank.

Sané's shot in the 7th minute soared over the crossbar. Similarly, a long-range shot from Kane, having spotted Lunin off his line, also missed the target. Jamal Musiala also lacked accuracy with a later left-footed shot, following a low pass from Thomas Müller from the right side.

Musiala missed another attempt with his right foot at the quarter-hour mark. Bayern then slowed down, perhaps to conserve energy despite the loud support of their fans. Then, German midfielder Toni Kroos opened up the play for Real Madrid and crafted the 0-1 in the 24th minute with a sublime through ball for Vinícius's run.

The Brazilian forward dropped back, drew defender Kim Min-jae, and beat him with a burst of speed on a tight space. Kroos threaded his pass along the ground through several opponents, and Vinícius, accelerating, faced the local goalkeeper. With a definitive low right-footed strike, he beat Manuel Neuer, his first shot on target, and a goal, a typical sequence for the club.

Bayern was dazed for a long while, and although they dominated ball possession, they didn't further threaten Lunin until the 42nd minute when a dribble by Musiala was halted by a foul from Nacho Fernández just outside the box. Kane took the free-kick with his right foot, but his mid-height shot went off target.

Just before the break, a similar situation occurred in the other area after Mazraoui fouled Jude Bellingham. Rodrygo Goes took the resulting free-kick, but his right-footed shot was deflected by Kane's head in the wall, and the ball went out for a corner kick that led to no further consequences, closing the first half.

Second half with another rhythm

The second half opened calmly, with Raphael Guerreiro replacing Leon Goretzka, but the first approach on goal was by the white team. Nacho Fernández intercepted a pass in the center of defense and initiated a counterattack with a pass to Vinícius, who spun around to shake off Min-jae before passing the ball to Bellingham.

The English attacking midfielder looked up and saw Kroos arriving on the left flank; without hesitation, the German midfielder struck a powerful right-footed shot that slightly touched Joshua Kimmich, but Neuer was quick to make a crucial save with an outstretched arm. Encouraged by this action, the Bavarian squad found the equalizer in the 53rd minute.

Starting from their own half, Konrad Laimer sent a long pass to Sané near the right sideline. The former Schalke and Manchester City player cut inside, evaded Ferland Mendy's marking, and just upon entering Madrid's box, unleashed a strong left-footed shot that found the net by the post at mid-height.

Just four minutes later, Musiala initiated another swift Bayern attack and was fouled on his shin by Lucas Vázquez, which the referee awarded as a penalty. Kane, with composure, deceived Lunin with his shot and scored the 2-1, a lead that could have increased if a left-footed strike by Kane in the 66th minute hadn't been blocked by Antonio Rüdiger.

After that corner, Eric Dier headed the ball higher and unchallenged, but Lunin caught the ball at his feet. In the 71st minute, a similar play occurred, although Dier's header was less clean and the Real Madrid goalkeeper also secured the ball. Carlo Ancelotti responded with several substitutions, bringing in Brahim Díaz and Luka Modric.

The fresh legs in the visiting team quickly made an impact, first with Vinícius in the 79th minute receiving a pass on the left side of the opposing area, though his shot was repelled by Neuer. The Brazilian didn't take long to forge the 2-2, executing a dribble linked with a low pass to Rodrygo.

Inside Bayern's box, Rodrygo was more adept than Min-jae at gaining space and turned around, clearly obstructed by the South Korean central defender. The referee, Clément Turpin, did not hesitate to award the penalty, and Vinícius sealed the draw, which ultimately remained final.

Vinícius Jr's post-match remarks

Real Madrid's forward Vinícius Jr. has stated that it's time to "create a magical night" at the Santiago Bernabéu for the return leg of the Champions League semifinals after drawing with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena (2-2), and he affirmed that they will fight to "take Madrid to where it deserves to be, which is the final".

"We always want to win, but we know that's how this competition is. You can't give away the ball, because both teams have great quality and will seize the chances they get. We have to stay calm, rest until next week. We will give our all to leave the Bernabéu qualified for London," he mentioned in comments to Movistar+ after the match.

Additionally, he appreciated Toni Kroos's pass for his first goal of the night. "Toni always makes things very easy and he gifted me a goal. I am very happy with the team's defensive work. Yes, we need to improve, but if we continue this way, we can win at home", he said. "We train a lot together. I know Toni very well and he knows me too. And I'm very pleased to be able to score two goals. And now, it's time to create a magical night at home", he emphasized.

Lastly, the Brazilian attacker highlighted the importance of not having lost this Tuesday. "In this competition, it's important not to lose, and we are here because we haven't lost yet. We have to continue to do great things and take Madrid to where it deserves to be, which is the final", he concluded.
