How does Andrey Rublev arrive?

The 26-year-old Russian tennis player is currently ranked number 8 in the world. 18 wins and eight defeats in this 2024 where he has one title.

He started the year by winning the Hong Kong title. In the Australian Open he played a good role, only the champion Jannik Sinner could stop him in the quarterfinals. After a remarkable participation in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai he had a bad streak. He fell in his second match in Indian Wells, the first in Miami, Monte Carlo and Barcelona.

He came to Madrid without having won a match on clay this year and with four defeats in a row. However, here he is finding a good level. In the Spanish capital he has beaten Bagnis, Spaniard Davidovich and Dutchman Griekspoor without dropping a set.

How does Carlos Alcaraz arrive?

Carlos Alcaraz, a 20-year-old Spanish tennis player, is currently ranked number 3 in the world. His balance in this 2024 is 18 wins, four losses and one title won.

The Spanish tennis player did not have a good start of 2024 with many complications. At the Australian Open he lost in the quarterfinals against Alexander Zverev. Although it was his best record in Melbourne, it was not enough. Then in his South American tour he lost in the semifinals against Jarry in Buenos Aires where he was defending his title. While in Brazil he had to withdraw in his first match due to an ankle injury against the Brazilian Monteiro.

Before starting the U.S. tour he played an exhibition match against his compatriot Rafa Nadal in which Alcaraz won in the super tie-break. In Indian Wells, where he was defending his title, he ended up winning for the second time in a row. In Miami he lost in the quarterfinals. After finishing in America he had an arm injury that left him out of the Monaco Masters 1000 and also the ATP Barcelona. In his return to the courts at the Madrid Masters 1000 he won comfortably against Aleksandr Shevchenko in two sets. Brazilian Seyboth Wild did not give him many problems in his second match. He repeated last year's final against Struff in the round of 16 where he suffered, did not close the match and it was decided in the super tie-break of the third set. Although he ended up winning.
