Livigno

A valley more than 22km long and at a height of 1,816 meters: here lies Livigno (whose name probably comes from the late Latin word labineus, "place subject to avalanches"): a mountain paradise, both in summer and winter, protected by the Italian Alps. A lifestyle destination that every year is chosen by Italians and international tourists to spend their vacations with fun, sports, relaxation and good food.

Manerba del Garda

Manerba del Garda is located in the province of Brescia, on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda. It is immersed in the greenery of the moraine hills of Valtenesi. In the hinterland, magnificent agricultural properties offer the unforgettable Garda oil, the D.O.C. wines already appreciated by the Romans, horseback riding, shaded trattorias with simple Mediterranean cuisine and splendid golf courses.

Stage 15 of the Giro d'Italia 2024, the queen stage

High mountain stage with pass and finish above 2000m. Five climbs are overcome with the only interval of the Val Camonica whose ascent represents the only "respite". We climb the Lodrino followed by the unpublished Colle San Zeno whose descent is very long and demanding. The Val Camonica is climbed from Pisogne to Edolo to climb the Mortirolo on the side of Monno and descend to Valtellina.

Long climb to the gates of Bormio with the short ascent of Motte and after Isolaccia Valdidentro ascent to the Passo di Foscagno. Then a short descent and the final ascent consisting of the Passo di Eira at the top of which we follow a road (asphalt) along the slope of Mottolino.

Last kms uphill. The gradient changes radically 2 km from the finish, after the Eira pass, where the average gradient remains above 10%, although the road has steep ramps interspersed with short, less steep sections.

In the last kilometer, the final ramp has gradients of up to 19%, followed by a brief softening of the slope and a new "step" leading to the final 50 m straight on 6 m wide asphalt.
