🏎️ The different strategies

Everything indicates that there will be a stop at the Miami Grand Prix. The option that a priori seems that most of the drivers will use is half hard. According to this graph, if you start with medium, the window is from lap 15 to lap 21. While if you start with hard the window is from 35th to 41st lap.

🥉 Will there be a Spanish podium?

Carlos Sainz, who starts from the third position, will be looking for a podium, which he already achieved in Miami in 2022. In addition, this circuit has always had a Spanish podium. Fernando Alonso achieved it last year. The Aston Martin driver today will start from far back, from the 15th position.

👀 The man who has been talked about all week.

Adrian Newey, British engineer who is currently working with Red Bull. However, this week he announced that he will leave the Austrian brand. He is related to Ferrari for next season, although Aston Martin also sounds. 

His main goal is to rest and go to France, although he has not revealed Newwy his future. "I'll probably go on a trip with my wife and the dogs. We'll get in a motorhome or something and go around France and enjoy life. Then maybe at some point, I don't know when, I'll get in the shower and say, OK, this is going to be the next adventure. Right now there's no plan," said the British engineer.

Max's hegemony continues

Sixth pole position for Max Verstappen in 2024. The first in Miami after failing to do so in 2022 and 2023. The Dutch driver signs a great start to the weekend after having achieved in the first position in qualifying for the sprint, also won the sprint race. 

Verstappen after achieving the pole has commented the following and continues to suffer in Miami despite everything. "We have improved the car, but every year here I struggle to be consistent, and it's very difficult to fit the first and third sector. We didn't do badly, it's not the lap I enjoyed the most but we are on pole.

Behind finished the two Ferrari drivers. Ahead of Leclerc, who will accompany Verstappen on the first line. Third will be Carlos Sainz. In search of the podium will be the Mexican Checo Perez, while behind the two McClaren. The Mercedes flew in Q2 to enter the top ten positions, but without pace in Q3. 

As for the surprises, Hulkeberg, who has slipped into Q3 and will start ninth. On the negative side, the two Aston Martins have been left out and Fernando Alonso will have to come back from 15th position. While Ricciardo, who finished fourth in the sprint race, failed to make the cut in Q2 and crashed out in Q1. The Australian will start 18th with his RB.

Top-8 of the sprint race at the Grand Prix of Miami

Max Verstappen won the sprint race, dominating from start to finish. Leclerc finished second and Mexican Checo Perez completed the podium. Surprising Ricciardo, who has been able to hold on to fourth position. His teammate Tsunoda closed the points. A race marked by the start of Lewis Hamilton, who has left out Lando Norris.
